Some things never change....

Today we got to spend the afternoon with my friend Amanda and her little one Lindsay. Amanda and I have been friends since we were about two. It's strange to think we have been friends for almost 30 years. It seems like yesterday we were playing house, watching Dumbo's Circus on the Disney Channel, and putting on our cheerleader outfits for Friday Night Football. Amanda, myself, and our friend Meg were practically sisters growing up. We spent so much time together. When we were young, Meg's mom (a.k.a. Mama Guice) kept us at her house while our parents were busy teaching school. Some of my most vivid childhood memories happened at the Guice house with Meg and Amanda. We would always bring our baby dolls and play "house" all day. Almost 30 years later, we are basically doing the same thing. Amanda and I were pregnant at the same time. She was about 2 months ahead of me. Then, Libby and Logan decided to enter the world a little early and ended up being born 5 days before Lindsay. Last summer we got together for a "playdate". Not much playing went on though. There was mainly a lot of laying around going on. Here is a picture of the girls meeting for the first time.

We got the girls together again this summer. This time there was a lot more playing going on. It took awhile for everyone to warm up but they had a lot of fun once they did. Here's are some pictures that Amanda took...Wow....what a difference a year makes???

I am so glad we were able to get together again. Amanda and I both teach school (just like our mom's did) so it is hard to get together throughout the year. We hope to see Amanda and Lindsay again soon but if we don't, we know there will always be next summer's playdate to look forward to!
