Christmas in Fort Payne

On Sunday, we got together with my family to celebrate the Holidays. The night before we left Jeff told me that he wanted me to go ahead and open my gift from him. He thought I might want to take it with me on our trip. He was right! He got me a new camera! Yea! I was very excited. I had really been wanting one for some time now. It's just what I wanted and I have already taken A LOT of pictures. I am still trying to figure out some of the settings so some of the pictures are a little too dark.

We left Sunday after church and drove to Fort Payne.  Here are the girls in the car....

The girls LOVED opening their gifts.

Look at that face!!! I think she likes it!

Nana and Paw Paw got everyone a little table with chairs for Christmas. They also got a tea set. They had so much fun playing together!

Madyson and Logan trying out the table!

Last  year we took a picture of all four of the girls on Nana's couch.
Here is last year's picture:

It was so much harder taking this year's picture. They were not cooperating. This is the best I could get:

All five grandchildren

Here are some pictures of the girls playing with their new things in the playroom. They love to color and play tea party.

I can't believe Christmas is almost here. We are looking forward to seeing what Santa brings to our house.

 Merry Christmas!!!!

Here comes Santa Claus....

Well...it's been awhile since I have updated. We have just been getting ready for Christmas. We are almost done with our shopping but there are no presents under the tree. We didn't see the need this year. We knew the girls would just unwrap them. We also only decorated the top half of our tree and most of our decorations stayed in the attic. We just didn't see the point because these girls can't keep their hands off of ANYTHING!

The girls got to meet Santa at Bass Pro Shop before Thanksgiving. They were NOT his biggest fans. They started crying immediately. I used to do the same thing so hopefully they will grow out of it. Here is the picture:

I love Santa's face....HILARIOUS!

On Monday, Santa made an appearance at Libby and Logan's daycare. Logan was home sick but Libby went and got to sit on the Big Guy's lap again. This time she didn't have her sidekick and she was NOT happy. I am sure she is wondering why we keep doing this to her.

We are looking forward to a wonderful Christmas with the girls and the rest of our family. This can be a stressful time of year but we try to keep the "reason for the season" in our minds.

And the angel said unto them, "Fear not: Behold I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people,Unto you is born this day a Saviour which is Christ the Lord.'Luke 2:11

Happy Halloween!

We had a great Halloween! The girls kicked off their Halloween weekend with a party at their daycare. Here is a picture of their class eating their party snacks. You can't miss the two monkeys at the table...

As most of you know, Jeff was born on Halloween so it's a big deal in our house. We went out to eat for Jeff's birthday on Saturday night so we weren't even home when the trick or treating was going on in Helena. On Sunday, we took the girls to our church for the annual Fall Festival. Cassandra and Callie met us there and we had a great time.Callie was a pirate. She was the cutest pirate I have ever seen! The girls loved playing the games and watching the parade. Of course, the candy was a big hit with both of them. They had their first sucker. They were so quiet and still while they ate it. I will have to remember that later when I need them quiet and still. Lord knows I need all the help I can get with that!! We even ran into our friends, The Lathams. Their girls were so cute in their costumes. Here are some pics from the day.....

A New Beginning....

"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11

This week the girls started at their new daycare. They have been at home since I went back to work last year so this is their first daycare experience. I was really nervous for them. They have never slept on a cot or had to sit in a chair for snack/lunch. I was just worried that they wouldn't be able to do these things. Well....there was no need to worry....they did great! They napped their first day and were able to sit at the table and eat their food without getting up. I am guessing they saw the other kids and just joined right in.

Their teacher did ask me on the second day if they slept in the same bed. They don't and haven't since they were 3 months old. Well...apparently...they were trying to sleep on the same cot. How sweet! On Thursday, they decided that was too hard (one kept falling off the cot) and they moved to their individual cots.

They seem to be having a great time. They get to play outside. They are around other children their age. I know this is a really good change for them. We love their daycare. This week they carved pumpkins and did several craft projects. Next week they are having a Halloween party and get to wear their costume! I wish I could be fly on the wall!

It was also picture day this week. They took individual pics and they also took one of them together. Here is a picture of them getting ready for their one of their pictures....
Here's a picture of them outside on the playground.....

This is been an adjustment for all of us. Jeff and I are having to get up a little earlier to get the girls ready and off to school before we head to work. It's been well worth it though. I am excited to see all the new things they will learn. They come home every day exhausted and if dirt equals fun, then Libby and Logan are having the time of their life!!!

Pumpkin Patch 2010

This past weekend we drove up to Fort Payne to visit with my family. We decided to take all the kids to the Pumpkin Patch in Rainsville. We had a great time and it wore all the kids out!

First stop was....THE CORN PIT! Sounds exciting huh? The girls weren't sure what to think of it at first. But, once they went down the slide....they decided it was pretty fun after all.

Here's Libby's first trip down the slide...

She just looked stunned at first and then..

she just giggled.....

and threw corn in the air!!!!

They loved the big kid slide too. Here's Logan at the bottom. She kept getting turned around by the time she got to the bottom.

Time to look for pumpkins...............

And now for my favorite picture from the day......

HOW CUTE IS THAT????
